When laryngitis occurs to your cat, the cat larynx or voice box has become inflamed as the result of illness, irritation, a blockage in the throat, or a sudden paralysis of the nerve controlling the laryngeal folds. When a cat develops laryngitis, it loses its meow for a few days.
