    No. Dogs are Canis lupus familiaris. canis is their genus, lupus is their species, familiaris is their subspecies. Other fox species are either vulpes (true foxes) or things like the gray fox (which is Urocyon cinereoargenteus, the first part being the genus, the other part being the species). They’re just not closely related enough.they’re just not closely related enough.
