Aspirin is a phenolic medication. For cats, it is also a medicine that delays clearance. Also known as acetylsalicylic acid, a commonly used anti-inflammatory and analgesic, it is mostly used for cat colds and painful diseases.

The safe dose of aspirin is 10-20 mg/kg (body weight)/day, and the toxic dose is greater than 25 mg/kg (body weight)/day. The safe interval of taking aspirin is 48-72h, and the half-life is about 40h in cats, so it is sometimes necessary to extend the interval between taking aspirin to cats.
