Dogs have different needs for calories as the seasons change. When dogs are kept indoors and outdoors, they need less heat in summer and more in winter. Do not only feed the same food in a year, but also change the food according to the season and physical condition, so as to ensure the healthy growth of the dog.

The amount of food in the warming season is 10% less than that in winter. After winter, there is no need for too many calories, but the dog’s appetite will not drop sharply, so be careful not to let it eat too much. Snacks are the root of obesity. If you want to give dogs snacks, you can only give them dried meat and so on, which should be counted as a part of the diet. Food consumption should also be reduced to 90% of that in winter. With the increase of temperature and humidity, the food is prone to mildew. It should be placed in a sealed container and kept in a ventilated place.

In the season of loss of appetite, dogs often weigh less (in summer). They are afraid of heat, and their appetite will drop in summer. This is a normal physiological phenomenon of reducing fat to spend the summer heat, so you don’t need to worry. But a dog should be weighed once a month. If it loses 10% of its weight, it means something is wrong with its body. If in summer, the dog’s appetite is still very strong, we should prevent it from getting fat. Sharp reduction of food intake will make it very fidgety, so mixing in low calorie food is conducive to reasonable control of food intake.

The season with strong appetite should prevent obesity (Autumn). It is not only human, but also dog with strong appetite in autumn, which is a normal physiological phenomenon of storing subcutaneous fat for winter. If you eat too much, you will still get fat. If the dog’s weight rises in a straight line and can feel its fat directly, it should be given weight loss in time. When you lose weight, you don’t need to reduce the amount of food you eat. If you mix some cabbage into your dog food, you can adjust the high calorie food to the low calorie food. When the weather is good, let it do a lot of exercise, also help to prevent its obesity.

In order to keep the body temperature and accumulate a lot of subcutaneous fat in winter, the dog’s appetite is extremely strong, and the amount of exercise is also increased, so it should gradually increase its food intake. Eating too much will cause obesity, it should be regularly weighed and fat test.
