Dog foot pad has been in contact with the road when going out, especially some puppies, often appear to run outside because the skin on the pad is too tender and injured, following today to analyze the treatment of dog foot injury for you, parents hurry to learn it.

    1. The dog’s nails are broken. If the dog hasn’t cut his nails for too long, the nails often break. If the dog is found to be lame, check the nail carefully to see if it is broken. If it is found that the nail is broken, immediately cut it with a nail clipper. If a broken nail cannot be removed or is difficult to remove, if the broken nail is dirty and exposed to many tissues, it should be treated by a veterinarian to prevent bacterial infection. Dogs with broken nails usually don’t bleed or only shed a little blood. If there is more blood, use a pressure bandage to cover the toes for 12 to 24 hours. If bleeding persists, cover the toes with a pressure bandage for 12 to 24 hours.

    2. When the skin of the meat pad is bruised and blistered, the blister or epidermis will fall off, which will expose the vulnerable tissue on the bottom of the dog’s foot. Dogs have obvious lameness. When you examine it, you will find that the epidermis is opened, part of it is still attached to the meat pad, and the tissue is exposed. Cut off the skin and thoroughly clean the dirt on the wound. The best way to deal with this kind of injury is to let the dog rest until the wound heals. The period is about two weeks. If the subcutaneous tissue is exposed to a wide area and there is bleeding, you should first clean the wound with a bactericide such as euiodide, and then wrap the bandage after it is dry. If the dog needs to walk for a long time, the wound must be covered with a bandage to avoid contact with the soil and prevent secondary injury and pain.

    3. If the dog cuts the foot pad and causes a lot of bleeding, the parents should take the dog home and press the bleeding wound with cotton for about one minute. If it is a small wound, check whether there is any foreign body in the wound after hemostasis. If there is any, take it out immediately and clean the wound with euiodide, let the wound dry, and bandage it to prevent dirt from entering. If the foot pad is cut deeply, it usually causes a lot of bleeding. The veterinarian should be sutured to promote wound healing and avoid bleeding.
