The eyes are our window to see the world, and the same applies to dogs. We should pay attention to the following aspects of the dog’s eye care at ordinary times to ensure the dog’s eye health and spirit.
1. Regularly check the eyes. To see if there are any eye worms in the eyes of the dog, how the structure and function of each part of the eyes are, and if there is any possibility of disease.
2. Clean your eyes. Don’t play in dusty areas to prevent dust particles from invading your eyes; after you go out for a walk, brush your eyes with cotton ball and dip a small amount of warm and light salt water (it’s better to use special eye wash liquid and tear wash liquid) to gently wipe your eyes or directly drop 1-2 drops into your eyes to remove dust and foreign matters in your eyes; When bathing, never let soap foam, washing liquid, sewage, etc. enter into the eyes. If it enters accidentally, wash the eyes immediately with physiological saline. For large and protruding dogs, regular inspection should be carried out, usually twice a day, to check whether there are filaments such as hair attached to the conjunctival sac and cornea surface. Once found, they should be taken out or washed with water in time.
3. To prevent eye injury. In order to avoid the strong stimulation of sunlight on the eyes, the hair around the eyes is usually kept or slightly trimmed, and should not be kept too short (the hair around the eyes has the effect of preventing the strong light from directly attacking the eyes); dogs and cats can not be kept in the same room, because “cats and dogs are enemies”. When the two play and fight, the dog’s eyes are often the place where the cat attacks. In addition, often cut and polish the dog’s toenails to prevent it from injuring its eyeballs.
The dog’s eyes need the owner’s careful observation and patient care. The big eyes, which are pure and clever, seem to speak, are the best reward for your work!
